Although the AMETHyST, Interreg Alpine Space project officially concludes at the end of October 2025, its FINAL CONFERENCE took place on 7–8 October in Grenoble, France — bringing together partners and regional stakeholders for the last major public event of the project.
Over two days, participants from France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and Slovenia reviewed achievements, exchanged insights and visited operational hydrogen sites across the Grenoble area — marking the transition of hydrogen in Alpine regions from pilot testing to real-world implementation.
Key findings and outcomes
• Hydrogen solutions have moved from experimentation to deployment, with several local ecosystems now entering operational or early-scale phases.
• Cross-border and public–private collaboration proved decisive, enabling structured ecosystem-building instead of isolated technical pilots.
• Hydrogen mobility is ready for Alpine territories, demonstrated through a ride aboard a retrofitted hydrogen coach by GCK Mobility and refuelling at the HYmpulsion station in Saint-Égrève.
• Green hydrogen production and off-grid applications are becoming a strategic asset — with Lhyfe and INOCEL showcasing solutions for remote and energy-sensitive mountain areas.
• Tourism emerged as an effective catalyst for introducing hydrogen technologies where visibility, sustainability goals and stakeholder alignment meet.
• The Alpine Space is now positioned as a pioneer in integrated hydrogen ecosystems — combining production, distribution, mobility and industrial innovation capacity.
The final conference, hosted by Tenerrdis and AURA-EE, included strategic presentations, networking with regional actors and field visits to HYmpulsion, Lhyfe, INOCEL and SLS Actiparc. You can find some Highlights from the Final Conference HERE.
🎥 Stay tuned! The video presentations of the AMETHyST results will be shared soon — so everyone who couldn’t join us in person can still discover the highlights and achievements from the past three years.
