COMMONAIR meeting in Grenoble – 21/22 May 2026

Jun 3, 2026

COMMONAIR partner meeting in presence – Grenoble 21-22/05/2026.

The City of Grenoble hosted two days of intense progress reporting and future programming on May 21st and 22nd. This second in-person partner meeting comes at the close of the project’s second period of activity.

Each partner updated the others on their own work, presenting past achievements and future challenges. All partners have successfully cooperated with citizen groups interested in microclimate monitoring. With them, they generated a wealth of information on the subjective experience and objective state of each city’s microclimate. Looking ahead, the project aims to increase diversity in the groups it reaches, and streamline its collaborations with institutional actors. The partners also shared the insights and tools they learned from their work, like relying on city cleaning services for climate mapping.

Participants also engaged with other initiatives based on citizen science and governance innovation, and had the opportunity to learn more about the thriving world of citizen-centered projects in Grenoble and the surrounding region.

The meeting prepared the ground for the project’s third period, based on developing and implementing innovative governance models based on citizen participation to activate mitigation and adaptation strategies in the Alpine area.
