Crowdsourcing Campaign completed!

After stakeholder workshops in all project countries followed by calls to participate to the campaign we  successfully completed the Alps4GreeC crowdsourcing campaign.

Altogether we received 22 suggestions of residues from stakeholders. Ten came from Italy, eight Austrian companies applied and 4 Slovenian stakeholders wanted their residues to be characterized for pilot production of biochar. 5 came from the forest industry, 4 from the agricultural sector, 4 from the food processing, 2 from the pulp & paper and 7 from other sectors. We received a large variety of residues from floating wood to vine shoots and olive paste.

We will now choose 10 residues, 4 from Italy, 4 from Austria and 2 from Slovenia for the characterization, which will take place in May and June 2023.  After that we will start the pilot production of biochar by using pyrolysis and gasification. It is planned to carry out the testing of the produceed biochar from November 2023 – January 2024.
