Discovering the textile biennale BIEN in Slovenia

Slovenia has a rich and diverse history of textile materials, designs, techniques, and patterns. Among the most active organizations in preserving its heritage is KreativNice, a creative textile hub that reconnects past and future with an innovative spin on traditions.

We had the pleasure of visiting their contemporary spaces in Škofja Loka during our kick-off meeting in January, and we are now just as delighted to share “The Universe of Suns,” their installation for the textile biennale BIEN.

With its programs of textile art, industrial design, and land art, BIEN reflects on heritage and sustainability through exhibitions and projects drawing from the biological, geological, and archaeological features of space, the environment, identities, industrial heritage, and traditional knowledge.
