Active since 2022, the project aims to develop circular economy hubs in the food sector across five pilot regions within the Alpine area. The initiative focuses on identifying opportunities to reduce food waste and CO₂ emissions, thus making a tangible contribution to environmental sustainability goals.
On Friday, May 23, the workshop “From Waste to Wonder. Circular economy cases of success” took place, organized by LAMORO within the framework of the CEFoodCycle project. The event was held in Alba from May 22 to 24 as part of the Sustainability Expo. During the workshop, we had the opportunity to present the project to the participants and showcase two outstanding local examples that have embraced circular economy and waste reduction as their core philosophy.
These included Biova Project, which collects unsold bread and transforms it into beer, and Poliphenolia, which uses grape waste for applications in the biomedical and cosmetic sectors. Two remarkable initiatives that share a common thread in their circular vision and their ability to offer an innovative and forward-looking business model.
We would like to thank all the participants in the talk and the team behind the Sustainability Expo for hosting us and including us among the event’s speakers.
