As part of the AlpTextyles project, Razvojna agencija Sora recently opened a fascinating exhibition that celebrates local textile heritage and innovation and runs through April 20th, 2024.
It’s a unique opportunity to dive into the rich local tradition of linen production, a journey that explores this timeless craft and its contemporary applications to design and products — starting from the intricate processes from flax to linen.
The exhibition features the works of talented artisans and communities such as the Davča Tourist Association, Nina Vastl Štefe, Rozalija Strojan, Lili Panjtar, Vita Ivičič, the Linen Women community, and the Kolpa Landscape Park.
📅 Public Guided Tour 📅
As a special treat, the Centre will organize a public guided tour of the museum linen collection next week on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at 18:00 in the Škofja Loka Museum. Curator Mojca Šifrer Bulovec will lead the tour, offering insights into the history and processes behind the local linen production.
