Project TIGER kicked-off in Graz!

Sep 27, 2024

The kick-off meeting of TIGER – FosTering ehealth and social Innovations as Game-changers in sEnior and Remote care took place in Graz on 26 September 2024.

ICS as lead partner welcomed 26 representatives of all project partners from Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France and Germany.

During the meeting, not only the first steps for the development of international solutions for improved elderly and remote care were discussed, but also Haus Esther was visited in order to familiarise themselves with new innovative products and services in a practical way.

With a project volume of just under 2.7 million euros and a project duration of 3 years, the aim of the project is to give Styrian companies access to international knowledge and specialised innovation services. These new impulses are intended to drive forward the development of products and services in elderly and remote care, which are urgently needed due to the growing shortage of skilled labour. Targeted innovation services such as the ‘Living Lab’, in which companies can test their products under realistic conditions, and expert assessments to evaluate market opportunities provide Styrian SMEs with valuable support in product development.

A central component of the project is also the development of an online platform that promotes the exchange between experts, companies and innovative offers. This platform should be ready for use by 2026 and open up the Alpine region (Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France and Germany) as an innovation space for the participating companies. SMEs that already have initial solutions in the field of remote care can receive valuable support from the project in developing suitable business models.

With the EU project TIGER, the project partners are taking an important step towards equipping SMEs from the Alpine region for the challenges of the future and strengthening their competitiveness in the global healthcare market.
