Successful X-RISK-CC partner meeting in Vienna

Mar 15, 2025

On March 11 and 12, 2025, the fifth partner meeting of the X-RISK-CC project took place in Vienna, focusing on addressing challenges posed by extreme weather events in the Alpine region.

As the project approaches its final phase, partners are intensively preparing key outcomes, including a digital library of past and future extreme weather events in the Alpine region and digital manuals with risk assessments and recommendations for managers. An interactive WebGIS tool will soon be available, facilitating a better understanding of risks and contributing to greater resilience of our communities to extreme weather events.

The project focuses on risk management at the local level, identifying shortcomings and seeking solutions in five pilot areas. Simultaneously, transnational guidelines are being developed to enhance the preparedness of the entire Alpine region for climate change.

Together with partners and stakeholders, we strive to create useful and high-quality documents that will contribute to the increased resilience of our communities to the consequences of climate change and extreme weather events.
