Join a 26-minute journey on the creation of a new fabric from wool đ
In one of the latest episodes of its podcast âLaser,â Radiotelevisione Svizzera (RSI) discusses AlpTexylesâ mission to revitalize textile supply chains in the Alps. If wool was once a precious commodity fueling the local economy, it has lost value in the last decades due to international competition, becoming a severe problem for shepherds.
The new episode features Cassiano Luminati, director of Polo Poschiavo; Adriana Zanoli, artisan and decorator from Poschiavo; and Tim Marchesi, farmer and pastor. From Italy to Austria to Switzerland, threads produced in Val Camonica meet those from Montafon on the weaving looms of Valposchiavo, prompting an innovative and all-Alpine fabric.
