Last week Maruša Goluza, ZRC SAZU, took part in the international symposium “The Future of Tourism in the Alpine-Adriatic Region” held in Hermagor, Austria.

It was co-organized by several universities and organizations from Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, etc. and with strong support of local organizers. The conference offered very interesting, insightful presentations dealing with climate change, tourism, mobility, management of tourist destinations and many others.

Maruša presented the results from TranStat project, namely the challenges identified in Kranjska Gora (one of the project’s Living Labs) as the most pertinent challenges that will need to be addressed in our future endeavors in the project – co-creation of action plans to achieve more sustainable future of this living lab.

The three-day conference ended with a tour of the Gailtal Museum in Möderndorf. It displays a very interesting collection, among others also the history of ski tourism and the start of the ski equipment industry in the area.
