Arogno joins the DEGREE4ALPS project: towards more sustainable Alpine mobility in Ticino

On 15 October 2025, a field visit took place in the Municipality of Arogno, one of the test areas identified for the Living Lab of Canton Ticino within the European project DEGREE4ALPS – Developing Green Regions for the Alps.

With Municipal Resolution No. 406 of 16 September 2025, the Municipality of Arogno officially joined the project, following an initial information session held in June.

During the site visit, the Ticino partners — BePooler SA and the Institute of Economic Research (IRE) of USI – Università della Svizzera italiana — collected information to design and launch a local carpooling pilot, inspired also by the existing “shared bench” initiative in the village.

The Living Lab in Ticino aims to explore and promote innovative and inclusive shared mobility solutions adapted to the specific needs of Alpine territories. By combining innovation, community engagement, and sustainability, the project seeks to encourage more connected and environmentally friendly transport models across the region.

The DEGREE4ALPS partnership warmly thanks the Municipality of Arogno for its collaboration and commitment — an important step towards a more sustainable and connected Ticino.
