Workshop on the use of remote sensing for the management and monitoring of rivers

The Natural Resources Management group at the scientific-technological University Politecnico di Milano (http://www.nrm.deib.polimi.it) organizes a a workshop on large scale use of remote sensing for the monitoring and management of rivers. The event is included in the framework of the projects AMBER, that seeks to apply adaptive management to the operation of dams and barriers in European rivers to achieve a more efficient restoration of stream connectivity and address impacts caused by river fragmentation  (https://portal.amber.international/), and IRIS (Italian Research and development Initiative for Spaceborne river monitoring), that  aims at developing tools for monitoring medium-large river systems from remote sensing to support the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC and the European Floods Directive 2007/60/EC (https://www.researchgate.net/project/Italian-Research-and-development-Intiative-for-Spaceborne-river-monitoring-IRIS). The workshop will be held on September 24th at the  the scientific-technological University Politecnico di Milano and the final program will be available soon.
