Perceptions from the TranStat Living Labs

Jul 6, 2023

The 1st TranStat International Workshop was held in Megève (France) on the 3rd and 4th of May. It was an opportunity for the Living Labs involved in the Interreg Alpine Space project to meet and discuss the factors of change that are affecting their Mountain Resorts.

From the initial exchange facilitated by the project, it turned out that the main common challenge that Mountain Resorts are facing is climate change, which is affecting the quality and quantity of the snow, the water supply and the length of the skiing season. Moreover, other issues are: the rising energy costs, the traffic congestion and the lack of parkings, the different interests of locals and tourists, the shortage of affordable rental housing and the depopulation.

Do you want to learn more about the Mountain Resorts? Are you curious about their perspectives and challenges related to climate change?
