In less than 24 hours, #AlpTextyles will meet with five textile communities from the Alpine region!
We are gathering at Polo Poschiavo for “New Intertwinings: Cross-border meeting of communities from the Alpine textile tradition,” a series of roundtables and participatory activities to learn more about the textile heritage directly from those involved in keeping it alive — and discuss how to safeguard it while making it accessible to a broader network.
Day 1 will focus on the experience and core business of each community, from revitalizing the Montafoner stone sheep wool, the traditional know-how of Poschiavo signature blanket, and the local wool from Val Camonica to bringing back flax in Val Mustair and the preservation work done by Skofja Loka craftspeople.
Day 2 will start with a table on digitalization and how to create online catalogs, galleries, and archives and continue with visioning sessions on how to act and the tools to implement for the textile heritage of the future.
