The GoApply partners Environment Agency Austria (UBA AT), Environment Agency Germany (UBA Dessau) and the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) have held a joint session at the 3rd European Conference on Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA 2017) from 5-9 June 2017 in Glasgow. Under the title "Is adaptation taking place? The practice of implementing adaptation strategies, climate mainstreaming and pilot activities within multilevel governance environments", the partners presented in-depth insights into the state of affairs and recent developments of national adaptation governance systems in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Further presentations informed about governance approaches in the UK and the Netherlands as well as about key findings from a research project on adaptation at the local level. The session was attended by high level representatives of the European Commission and the European Environment Agency. In the panel debate concluding the conference, speakers repeatedly referred to messages put forward and discussed at the session.
