The annual conference of the Italian Regional Science Association took place from the 17th to the 19th of September at the Eurac Research in Bolzano - South Tyrol (IT). Christian Hoffmann and Valentina Cattivelli from the Eurac Research Institute for Regional Development have designed the session “Accessibility and provision of Service of General Interests: new needs, new solutions”. Of the five submitted contributions, two were directly related to the Alpine Space project INTESI.
Peter Laner presented the most important results regarding the situation of availability, accessibility and quality of SGI in the nine INTESI-test areas, which were mainly elaborated and coordinated by the Eurac Research Institute for Regional Development. Furthermore, Cristina Pellegrino from the Regione Lombardia presented the pilot activities with focus on the test area Valchiavenna and mentioned briefly the INTESI-approach as well as the “Design thinking” – method for mountainous areas.
