Forty-two participants, representing fifteen project partners coming from five countries (Slovenia, Italia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland) gathered for three days within the 3rd Project meeting and the 1st Dialogue event of AlpInnoCT, which took place in Trieste from October 4th until October 6th 2017.
The outcomes of the meetings held in Trieste represented an important step forward in agreeing some technical contents of the project activities, pilot actions and pilot corridors. For instance, one of the envisaged pilot activities will be carried out along the agreed axis Trieste-Villach-Munich-Bettembourg by Trieste Port Authority, together with TX Logistik AG, with a focus on ICT interfaces between railway undertakings and the port. In order for the AlpInnoCT partnership to gain some first impressions and insights into the operations of the Port of Trieste, a guided visit to the port was organized by the Port Authority of the Network of the East Adriatic Sea for all participants of the three-day partner meeting.
Under the coordination of the partner CIPRA, the partnership discussed internally and developed a concept for the so-called “Dialogue events”, the instrument for direct involvement of stakeholders of the Alpine transnational area in the project implementation.
In particular, the next scheduled Dialogue event, which will take place in Bolzano (Italy) on October 24th, will represent the perfect chance for tackling the issue of “push & pull” measures to be adopted for fostering the combined transport in view of the implementation of the macro regional strategy of the Alpine Region – EUSALP. This coming Dialogue event will form part of the agenda of the next meeting of the transnational EUSALP working group on transport, Action Group n.4 “AG 4 - inter-modality and interoperability in passenger and freight transport”. Additionally, the Dialogue event in Bolzano will officially represent the first direct contact between the representatives of AG 4 and the AlpInnoCT partnership.
