On February 27, 2020, the twenty best internship reports (in Austria) were awarded at the Urania in Vienna on the occasion of the "Talente Praktika für Schülerinnen und Schüler" (Talent Internships for School Students), organized by the Austrian Research and Promotion Society (FFG).

The award was presented to the Vorarlberg schoolgirls Viktoriia Simakova (HAK Bregenz) and Firdes Kiraci (HTL Dornbirn), who completed an internship at the FH Vorarlberg in the summer. In their internship, Viktoriia and Firdes conducted the Melinda awareness survey on the "mobility of the future". Among other things, they asked 155 citizens about their mobility behaviour and scientifically evaluated the answers they received. For this evaluation Viktoriia and Firdes had three tools (Excel, SQL and R) at their disposal, which they skilfully used. Furthermore, the research was compared with existing EU studies.

As Viktoriia and Firdes found out in this comparison, since 2011 a trend towards sustainable mobility can be seen especially in Vorarlberg. Florian Maurer, who is working on the Melinda project on behalf of the FH Vorarlberg, was honoured at the event by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology for his outstanding support of the interns.
